UPDATE: Ok so apparently doing the exact same thing more than once breaks the animation. And I mean EXACT same. I changed nothing and just created the same keyframes again later on in the same manner I did the first ones, but then they decide not to flow correctly. Whatever, at least I figured out how to adjust the stage and the FPS, so now its a little cleaner ^-^

At the time, I used some free program called Vectorian Giotto, however all I did was make ~4 unique keyframe drawings seperately in Photoshop Elements. I personally wouldn't reccommend the program, as it didn't support my tablet, so I couldn't actually make any smoother animations other than frame by frame, which can be done in Photoshop anyways and is basically a .gif at that point.

I plan on buying Adobe Flash to animate with later on, and I dont use this free program any longer, as it doesn't feel as though its really worth the effort put in for the quality put out.

However if you're looking towards making a .gif, or animating frame by frame, its a simple tool to have if just for that, though it does require a lot of memory. I'd say look around for other programs, as there's likely many more that are better to use, and also free.

Sorry for the long response ^^; Hope that answers you well though :)

I actually use websites to make gifs, but by gifs, I mean like dA icons. Oh and I told my mom to get me a wacom tablet Intuos Pro for Christmas, and it comes with Adobe Elements 11. Is it cool?

Yeah. The animation here I made is basically a gif in a different format, in the sense I kinda used the same way of creating the animation, frame by frame.

A note of forewarning though: updating the drivers for tablets in general seem to be pretty fragile, so don't get frustrated if it acts all crazy the first time you plug it in!

Other than that, that's pretty much exactly what I have! Only difference is that my tablet was a weaker Bamboo Create, and I now use Paint Tool SAI to draw, though Adobe Photoshop Elements is amazing for drawing as well. What you're getting is more than perfect for starting out! ^-^

I suck at SAI XD I don't have the Pen tool and when I draw a simple little line, the ends are not pointy and smooth T-T

aww

Getting a tablet should fix that problem though. If you want to make the ends of a line more smooth, try erasing part of the tip so that they are!
